Statistical Genetics and Genomics Learning Group 

The Statistical Genetics and Genomics (SGG) Learning Group  was formed in 2022. The mission of the group is to disseminate and discuss cutting-edge statistical genetics and genomics research at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health and provide opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations among faculty in the department and the school. The working group brings together faculty, fellows, students, and visitors from related fields, including biostatistics, statistics, computational biology, genetics, engineering, medicine, etc. from inside and outside Columbia, interested in gaining a better understanding of how genomes and genes affect biological functions and how to translate this knowledge to improving human health. The working group meets bi-monthly to discuss the latest progress in the field using work of our group members as well as recent publications, including new statistical and computational methodology, new data resources in genetics and genomics, and new bioengineering technologies.

In addition, regular genomics seminars are being organized with speakers from both inside and outside Columbia. The list of speakers in the 2023 Fall is given below:
